Embracing Stillness: Finding Purpose in Stagnation
Seeking Clarity Amidst Silence
During the Lenten period, as I endeavored to draw closer to Jesus, I found myself grappling with moments of apparent emptiness in prayer and creative pursuit. Frustration often welled within me as I questioned the significance of this apparent stagnation. Was I somehow failing in my efforts? Was there a missing piece to the puzzle?
A Shift in Perspective: Finding Beauty in Stagnation
In the midst of this internal struggle, a profound realization began to take shape. Rather than viewing these periods of inertia as indicators of personal deficiency, I started to perceive them as invitations from a higher source. Perhaps, I thought, there is beauty in being stuck.
Patience in Progress: Navigating the Journey
It occurred to me that our instinctual desire for swift resolutions to our dilemmas may not always serve us well. Sometimes, the most meaningful progress emerges not from hurried action, but from the stillness and being guided by Jesus.
Confronting Insecurities: Sharing Vulnerability
For me, the Lenten season was not only about drawing nearer to Jesus but also about confronting longstanding fears and insecurities. Chief among these was the persistent belief that my experiences and insights held little value for others. Despite my reluctance to engage with social media, I felt compelled to share my journey, complete with its trials and missteps, in the hope of offering solace and guidance to those who might resonate with my story.
Guided by Grace: Embracing Divine Direction
Yet, as I sat down to write, I found myself confronted with a daunting blank page, the cursor blinking accusingly. It was then that I turned to Jesus in earnest, seeking clarity on whether this path was truly ordained for me. Through prayerful reflection and communion, I came to understand that it was not a matter of divine disapproval but rather a call to approach this endeavor with greater reverence and intentionality.
A Call to Stillness: Honoring the Journey
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
In essence, Jesus was urging me to embrace the stillness, to allow space for His guidance to permeate my words and actions. If this journey held significance for me, then it was equally significant to Him.
